Susan A. Bethel, MS, RN
Susan A. Bethel, M.S., RN has been a registered nurse for 49 years, involved in numerous leadership positions, led innovative clinical service initiatives, was Clinical Nurse Specialist in critical care and neuroscience services at several institutions, a mentor and dedicated nurse researcher involved as primary investigator on numerous studies.
Sue received her Master of Science degree from University of South Florida. Her latest position was as the Manager of Nursing Scholarship and Research for the large Prisma Health System in South Carolina. Was member of Prisma Health Institutional Review Committee/Board (IRC/IRB) and was IRB administrator at an Atlanta institution.
She has authored and co-authored several peer-reviewed articles and clinical book chapters. Sue also led innovative clinical programs, research, and co-editor of critical care manual. Focused efforts on funding as a grant writer and was sole awardee for a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant, co-investigator on large Health Resources and Services Administration grant and co-grant writer collaborating with a nonprofit sexual assault and child abuse advocacy center to obtain a privately funded community grant. Has been certified as Nurse Executive by American Nurses Credentialing Center. Recipient of the South Carolina Palmetto Gold award for top 100 nurses, Award for Excellence in Research from Chapter of National Honor Society in Nursing and Nursing Excellence award from National League for Nursing.
