Sarita Battish, MS, DPM
Dr. Sarita Battish, a dedicated healthcare professional, has cultivated an impressive career in podiatric medicine and community advocacy. Growing up in Stroudsburg, PA, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors (cum laude) from East Stroudsburg University. She went on to obtain a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Battish began her professional journey as a research analyst in the Ob/Gyn department at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she contributed to groundbreaking work in the pharmaceutical industry for four years. Her passion for specialized healthcare then led her to the Podiatric Medicine and Surgery program at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. After completing her studies, she pursued a residency in forefoot surgery at Northshore-Long Island Jewish Health System, Queens, NY. Dr. She later established her own solo podiatry practice in Philadelphia, PA, focusing on serving bilingual, multicultural elderly, and chronically ill populations across diverse clinical settings.
In addition to her professional achievements, Dr. Battish is an advocate for health, mental wellness and mental health stigma. Her dedication to community service began as a first-year student at East Stroudsburg University, where she volunteered for organizations addressing domestic violence and sexual assault. Throughout her academic and professional journey, she continued her advocacy efforts with Women Organized Against Rape and by delivering lectures, workshops, and care for underserved populations in Philadelphia. For over 14 years, Dr. Battish has been a steadfast patient advocate with the National Patient Advocate Foundation and Patient Insight Institute.
