Karen J. Cooke, MSW, LISW-CP 

Karen J. Cooke, MSW, LISW-CP is a health care professional with over 30 years of clinical experiences. She has been involved in numerous leadership positions, initiated and lead a number of clinical and therapeutic initiatives in mental health and mental illness throughout her years of practice as a Clinical Social Worker.  

Ms. Cooke is a licensed Masters level Independent Social Worker-Clinical Practice in the State of South Carolina. She obtained a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University Of Tennessee, Knoxville and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and Sociology including Certification in Secondary Education from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee. In her previous position she was a clinical therapist at Greenville Health System (GHS) in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine for over 13 years, working with the child and adolescent unit and the adult and geriatric populations at Marshall I. Pickens Hospital. 

Throughout her position at GHS/Prisma Health she has held several positions including being a Clinical Instructor for the University of South Carolina (USC) School of Medicine Greenville. She was a lecturer in the Academic Department of Psychiatry, University South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. Ms. Cooke was also Chair of the Awards Committee for the 2017 Southeastern Symposium on Mental Health. Karen is a Life Member and immediate past president of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority Incorporated, Epsilon Tau Omega Chapter, The Greenville Chapter of the Links Incorporated and also volunteers with community service-oriented organizations that sponsor scholarships and cultural enrichment programs targeting African-American youth in the community.
